Testimony:

Being raised in Church, I certainly knew who Jesus was as I grew up. Unfortunately, as some teenagers do, I went astray in my later years. In fact after the loss of my first baby, I was downright angry with God.

Then my oldest daughter, Sydnye was born very sick. We were immediately rushed from Denison to Dallas, where before she was even 24 hours old she was taken into the very first surgery. I had doctors telling me she wouldn’t live past the age of four, that she would be mentally impaired, she would never walk. I could list all of her diagnoses of you but it wouldn’t matter. All you need to know is she was my miracle!

Not only through her did I find God again. But God showed me so many wonderful things. She graduated in 2018 with a 3.4 GPA, she doesn’t just walk, she can RUN, and she will turn 19 years old this next February.

So remember my Darwin family and friends, our God is an awesome God who is always by our side, through the hill and valleys.

" I was  saved at the age of 13 at a church lock in. At the time I had a fresh and exciting new faith but as I got older I had many struggles. As a young adult I quit going to church and really wrestled with my relationship with God, turning away from him and following my own plan instead of his. When my daughter was about 2 years old I realized that I needed to make a change. My husband and I started going to church and have not stopped since. That was about 17 years ago. It doesn't mean that I do not struggle anymore but now I am grounded in the word of God. Remember, the church is not perfect but it is a place for un-perfect people to learn about a perfect God that loves them passionately and wants so much for them then they can ever imagine."

"My family and I have been at Darwin for about 2 years. I help in all areas that I can. From tearing down sheet rock to helping with VBS. Currently I am the Sunday School Director."

"My favorite book from the Bible is Psalms. Psalms is a book of raw human emotion. I love to read it because it tells me that even people in the Bible, people that sometimes we think we're perfect, still had their struggles. They experienced fear, doubts and loneliness to name a few. They also battled with sin. David was an example of someone "after Gods own heart" that was far from perfect. But one thing about David was that he always repented and turned back to God. And guess what........... God was ALWAYS there ready to forgive."

"I have to admit I am a homebody. I love being at home with my family. If we are not at home you can probably catch us shopping or at the movies."

Young Adult Teacher

Celina Vasconcellos

Testimony:

I was saved as a young child and have spent most of my life knowing Jesus as my Savior.  Though I have not always walked with him and have strayed many times he has always been with me, waiting for me to ask forgiveness and to accept me back into his loving grace.

My family and I have attended Darwin since early 2016 i am currently the VBS Director.

Favorite Scriptures: Esther and Ruth are my favorite books of the Bible as they provide stories in which God used women.  Psalms 62:6 It reminds me that ultimately I answer to God not to man, and that my strength is in him.

I enjoy cooking attempting to play piano, and spending time with family.
